I'm so glad our 2016-2017 school year is under way! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be Tritt's Innovation Specialist again this year. For the past two years I've been working with students to increase 21st century skills and expose them to innovation in the world around us. We focused on coding and programming, and product creation through apps, websites, and programs. While I will continue to work with students this year, my focus will be more on coaching teachers to integrate technology into their own classrooms. I'm eager to get into classrooms and collaborate with teachers to meet the needs of their individual classes!
This is my 11th year at Tritt. I started here during my student teaching, where I was placed in Mrs. Womble's 2nd grade class. After graduating from Georgia State University, I spent a few months subbing at Tritt before accepting a long term sub job here in a Kindergarten classroom. I taught Kindergarten for 4 years and then 2nd grade for 3 years. This is my third year as Tritt's Innovation Specialist, and I'm so excited to be coaching our teachers as we look to better embed technology into the everyday core content curriculum. My husband and I have a 2 year old at home, so I stay just as busy at home as I do here at school! If you happen to catch me outside of school, you'll probably see me mountain biking, hiking, camping, or playing outside. My passion for the outdoors helps me unplug and get back to the basics with my family and friends.
